Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Prudhoe community is a water-scarce community, despite water pumps and defunct water reservoir for almost fifteen (15) years now. The only time are living in harmony with nature is by sharing the river run and by drinking from water streams. This is despite water shortage is said to be joining Eskom’s load shedding (Power utility failure) – double burden. To mitigate environmental challenges posed by the climate change and environmental issues, our envisioned hub water supply and energy would be powered by solar energy – and our activities - Hydro Coop sustainable agriculture and sport activities - are climate change conscious. However, efforts to achieving our strategic goals remain halted without the supplement of sustainable source of energy and water supply as the hub is an innovation powered by solar energy. Thus, we aim to use the following interventions to attain our strategic objectives: Educate children and youth on sustainable agriculture through Hydro Coop innovation to mitigate the impact of climate change, while creating jobs and producing Agropreneurs targeting 1500 children and 1000 youth throughout the year; and installations of solar panels, solar-powered water harvesting systems and Hydro Coop by May 2024 impacting 3000 lives every day.
