R300 helps provide these community gardens with essential farming packs On 18 January 2021, Ladles of Love launched the #GiftALoveGarden campaign with the aim of helping with the implementation of sustainable development in the Western Cape. This will be achieved through the creation and growth of urban farms in the Cape’s impoverished areas where many do not have daily access to nutritious food. Every week we venture out to urban farms, meet with sustainability leaders and visit those in need of a community garden to find out how to successfully realise this vision. We visit some of the urban farms in an around the Cape to find out how to start with the implementation of sustainable development and what problems need to be addressed. A community garden can help provide their soup kitchens with fresh and essential ingredients to feed hundreds of people every day. We met with experts such as Justin Bonello (founder of The Neighborhood Farm) and John Thomas (founder of Living Hope) to give us valuable insight on growing the initiative.
