We at Lesedi la Batho feel strongly called to respond to the alarming rates of GBV and unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an experienced, trusted and established NGO with a broad reach in the Mabopane community, we believe we can make a substantial impact - but we need YOUR help! We've just launched a new women empowerment program to scale our services supporting women to become financially independent and in charge of her own decisions - the first step to a new life. Ikemele, meaning "to rise up", is a 3-month program offering skills training, practical help & psycho-social support - followed by assistance finding a job or starting a small business. We invite individuals and corporates to sponsor a woman's program, or contribute to her sponsorship. R180 = 1 dignity pack R200 = 1 food parcel R280 = 1 month of transport fare to classes and counselling sessions R400 = 1 month of group and one-on-one counselling sessions R1050 = 1 meal for 30 women at the centre after class R1500 = 1 month's full sponsorship R4500 = 1 full 3 month program including skills training, group & one-on-one counselling, bi-weekly food parcels, a dignity pack, transport fare to classes and counselling, and weekly meals at the centre "Economic equity is an enormous empowerment of women.
