Help Diepsloot Victim Lifeline (Green Door shelter) with 5 volunteers for fundraising for victims of GBV

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Diepsloot Victim Lifeline (Green Door shelter) is the only shelter for women and children of abuse that exists in the Diepsloot community where unemployment is rife and instances of violence and abuse are commonplace. Our shelter helps between 20-30 victims per month yet we survive on limited resources, which includes ad-hoc donations from individuals and small businesses. We receive zero government funding. We are looking for an individual to help us with fundraising by presenting our shelter as an option for companies that are looking to help fight the GBV pandemic in the country.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
