Afesis is as a social justice organisation deeply committed to strengthening local governance, deepening democratic participation, fostering access and inclusion, and dismantling pervasive structures of urban and spatial inequality, operated within an increasingly dynamic and often challenging global and domestic environment. This environment significantly shapes our collective future and, by extension, the operational landscape for organisations like ours. Our vision is of a just and equitable society where institutions of democratic governance are inclusive, responsive and accountable. Our mission is to support civic agency through catalytic interventions in sustainable human settlement development and good local governance.
