The Men Carve NPC

The Men Carve is a South African non-profit organisation committed to preventing gender-based violence through promoting healthy and respectful manhood among men and boys. Guided by the isiZulu proverb “Ugotshwa Usamila”, we believe in shaping positive attitudes and behaviours from an early age. Our primary target group is men and boys, while approximately 60% of our programme participants are women. We recognise that meaningful social change requires everyone's participation, including women, girls, and people from marginalised communities. Some of our programmes are designed specifically for men and boys, others for women and girls, while our broader community programmes welcome everyone. Through workshops, seminars, school visits, university residence engagements, and our #LiveRespect movement, we address gender stereotypes, mental health, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, bullying, and respectful relationships.
