Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
We’ll do this kitchen carport as a stand-alone community need Closed Carport Kitchen 9x3m - Bigger Space to Feed 150+ Children , youth and elders. SDG Tags: SDG 2 Zero Hunger | SDG 3 Good Health & Well-bein The Problem: Right now we are using the small family kitchen to cook for 150 people twice a week. The pots don’t fit. Smoke fills the room. When it rains, we stop cooking. When wind blows, fires go out. Children wait outside hungry. We have love, we have food, but we don’t have space. SDG 2 means no child should miss a meal because of weather. The Solution: Next to our place where used for ECD & Afterschool care programmes we have a 9m x 3m open space with walls on 3 sides which we can build a carport for big kitchen and storage . We need R18,500 to close for that carport : 6 steel supporting pillars + IBR roof + gutters + labour and poles . This turns into a safe, dry, bigger kitchen. The Impact: 1. SDG 2 Zero Hunger:150 people eat hot, nutritious meals 365 days, rain or shine 2. SDG 3 Good Health: Clean, ventilated space = less smoke + dust in food = fewer sick children 3. More Capacity: With bigger space we can cook for more children + start skills training for mothers 4. Community Pride:Volunteers cook with dignity, not from a small family kitchen Budget:Steel pillars R6,000 | Roof sheets + gutters R7,000 | Labour + cement R4,500 | Fittings R1,000 | Total R18,500 This stands on its own. R18.5k is believable for pillars + roof. SDG 2 + 3 will bring food + health donors straight to you.
