How can you help?

Help Johannesburg Dream Center NPC by donating crochet items for teaching unemployed women to crochet!

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Johannesburg Dream Center NPC is launching a new crochet skills project to teach unemployed and financially vulnerable women how to crochet. We are fortunate to have a talented volunteer who is ready to share her skills and guide the women through beginner-friendly crochet lessons. However, many of the women attending our programmes cannot afford to purchase the materials needed to participate. We are therefore asking for donations of new or gently used crochet supplies, including: * Wool or yarn in any colour * Crochet hooks in different sizes * Wool needles * Small scissors * Measuring tapes * Stitch markers * Buttons in different sizes and colours * Beginner crochet patterns or books * Storage containers, baskets or bags for the materials Through this project, participants will have the opportunity to learn a practical and creative skill in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. Crochet can provide a positive outlet, build confidence and create a sense of achievement and belonging. As their skills develop, participants may also be able to make useful items for their families, contribute handmade items to community outreach projects or explore opportunities to earn an income. Johannesburg Dream Center believes that empowerment goes further than a handout. By donating crochet materials, you will help us give unemployed women access to a new skill, renewed confidence and hope for a brighter future. Both individual and corporate donations are welcome. Every ball of wool, crochet hook and button can help us turn creativity into opportunity.
