Help Groote Schuur Hospital Trust by donating items for our adolescent patient wards

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Being a chronically ill teenager in hospital is tough. At Groote Schuur Hospital, we’re putting together comfort and activity packs to support teens facing long stays. You can help by donating new items that bring dignity and distraction — like playing cards, notebooks, caps, water bottles, towels, slippers, and personal hygiene essentials. Each item shows our teens they’re not alone — and that their community cares. Join us in making their hospital stay a little brighter. List: 🎲 Activities & Distractions (x 50 each): * Playing cards * Peak caps (any style, unbranded preferred) * 1-litre reusable water bottles * Active-style T-shirts (unisex, S/M/L) * A5 spiral-bound notebooks 🧼 Hygiene & Comfort (x 100 each): * Bath towels (new only) * Face cloths * Shower caps * Shampoo (travel size ideal) * Body wash * Loofahs or bath sponges * Hand cream * Quilted slippers (adult sizes S–L)

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
