Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Help us empower more women through sewing skills! Vuka Hub – The Women's Upliftment Hub is a community skills development initiative launched by Khanyisa Trust in Edenvale in August 2025. Our programme currently provides free sewing lessons twice a week to approximately 10 disadvantaged and unemployed women, helping them develop practical skills, confidence and the potential to earn an income. We have dedicated training space, committed participants and volunteer teaching support, but our ability to welcome more women is limited by the number of sewing machines and resources available. We are appealing for donations of: - New or working second-hand sewing machines - Overlockers and sewing equipment - Fabric scissors, measuring tapes and other sewing accessories - Sewing machine servicing and repair assistance Every contribution, big or small, helps us maintain our existing programme, increase training capacity and give more women the opportunity to develop skills that could change their lives. Our longer-term vision is to expand Vuka Hub into a broader community skills development initiative, creating opportunities for both women and men to become more self-sufficient. Help us turn practical skills into opportunities for a better future.
