There are many practical ways to support the children and the village around them. African Blessings needs help with new classrooms for our growing number of children, paint and maintenance for the school and homes, furniture, appliances and soft furnishings for the houses the children reside in, paving to complete safer walkways, fertiliser and sports equipment for the sports field, stationery, books, art supplies, educational materials, teacher training, groceries for school lunches, donations towards occupational therapy and speech therapy, and support for the ponies used in our animal assisted therapy programme. At the heart of African Blessings is an integrated, home based care system. Children live in small family style homes with dedicated caregivers who provide daily care, routine, emotional support and a sense of belonging. This model allows each child to be known, loved and supported as an individual. Our work goes beyond providing a safe home. The children also receive early education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, equine therapy, farm based learning and daily developmental support. As the children grow, so do their needs. Our current Early Childhood Development Centre is reaching capacity, and additional classroom space will allow older children to continue learning in a safe, familiar environment, while still making space for younger children who may be placed in our care. Every contribution, large or small, helps create a stronger village around the children. Whether you help build a classroom, fill a lunchbox, donate books, support therapy, maintain a home, improve the sports field, provide furniture and soft furnishings, or care for our therapy ponies, you become part of a practical system of love, learning and healing. Together, we can give vulnerable children the stability, support and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.
