Help Feral Watch And Tnr raise R5,200 for Nonno suffered an auto immune disease
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
We saw Nonno on a Facebook post— tied to a tree stump, and listed for sale. Her life was worth just R1000. She had been treated for tick bite fever the week , but by Friday she was critically ill. When we saw her, even I didn’t feel very hopeful about her recovery. But that’s why we’re not vets. Nonno made it through the night and by Saturday afternoon, she started eating. The diagnosis was confirmed: her own immune system was attacking and destroying her red blood cells—a condition known as immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA). IMHA is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease where the body mistakenly targets and breaks down its own red blood cells, leading to severe anemia, weakness, and even organ failure if untreated. It can be triggered by infections, medications, or sometimes occur without a known cause. Nonno was discharged this morning and will continue her treatment at home. Please keep this brave little soul in your thoughts.
