Below is a guide with eight volunteering concepts you can run in your business between October 2026 and February 2027 — each one tied to a real calendar moment, from World Food Day to the first day of school.
They are not team-building days with a charity label attached. Every concept produces something a cause partner has actually asked for: dignity packs, food buckets, ABC books, school kits, planter boxes. We handle the rest — sourcing the materials, coordinating the day and delivering the outcome to the cause — so all your team has to do is show up and make something that matters.
Waste to Canvas
Clean-up & Recycling Month · October 2026
Litter is easy to overlook until it is gathered in one place. Teams clean a site that suits them — a beach, riverbank, park, school ground or street — sort what they collect, then build the haul with an artist into a collaborative artwork displayed in the office or donate it, which keeps telling the story long after the clean-up.
Stitched with Dignity
Day of the Girl Child · 11 Oct 2026
Many girls miss school every month because they cannot afford sanitary towels, and going without is a quiet shame that keeps them home. Employees cut and sew a pad bag themselves, pack it with pads, tissues and a wash cloth, and add a handwritten note, so each girl gets a discreet, made-by-hand pack she can carry every day. The same class format also runs for GBV causes, with employees sewing travel toiletry bags for women arriving at shelters with nothing of their own.
Buckets of Hope
World Food Day · 16 October 2026
October is the hardest month for food-insecure households: schools close, feeding schemes pause and costs rise. Employees pack buckets with food staples at a group packing event, seal them and send them to families through our cause partners, and each bucket is re-used afterwards for storing water.

First day of school · 13 Jan 2027
A child who arrives without a pencil case starts the year behind. Employees pack a drawstring bag with exercise books, pens, a ruler and a lunchbox, so every learner walks in with the same kit as everyone else.

World Read Aloud Day · 3 February 2027
Early literacy begins with play. Children and employees each illustrate a letter at drawing stations, and the pages become bright ABC books for ECD centres with words left part-blank, so the book teaches while they play.
Beanies of Bravery
Childhood Cancer Day · 15 Feb 2027
Hair loss during treatment leaves patients cold and self-conscious at their most vulnerable. Employees create soft, no-sew fleece beanies for children and adults in treatment.
What She Takes With Her
Violence against Women Day · 25 Nov 2026
Support that lasts is support she can carry out the door. Employees assemble, sand and finish pre-cut wooden tool boxes, sized for a sewing/nail kit, hairdressing tools or baking equipment, and each is handed over with its starter tools inside. A trade, any woman can begin earning from.
Ground to Stand On
World Water Day · 22 March 2027
For much of the country the problem is not dirty water, it is no water. Employees build and paint wooden planter boxes, plant drought-hardy seedlings such as spinach, sweet potato and beetroot, and finish each one with a water-wise care card — giving shelter and ECD kitchens fresh food that survives a dry tap, and residents a skill they take with them.
