**Help Johannesburg Dream Center with monthly accounting and financial reporting** Johannesburg Dream Center is looking for an **experienced accountant or accounting professional** who would be willing to volunteer their skills on a long-term basis and become an important part of strengthening our organisation behind the scenes. As a nonprofit, good financial management is incredibly important to us. We want to ensure that our accounting records remain accurate, organised and audit-ready throughout the year — rather than trying to piece everything together at year-end. We are therefore looking for someone who can **commit to supporting us for at least 12 months**, ideally working with us monthly. The volunteer would assist us with taking our monthly financial transactions and ensuring that they are correctly captured and organised into the accounting records required for our annual financial statements and audit. **Support would include areas such as:** * Reviewing and organising monthly financial transactions * Assisting with correct allocation and accounting treatment of transactions * Preparing and maintaining ledgers * Preparing monthly or regular trial balances * Assisting with reconciliations where required * Ensuring accounting records are complete and properly maintained * Helping us identify missing information or accounting corrections throughout the year * Preparing the accounting information and schedules required for our annual financial statements and audit * Helping us establish a sustainable monthly accounting process that our team can follow going forward We are specifically looking for an **accountant with practical accounting experience** who understands ledgers, trial balances, reconciliations, year-end preparation and the financial information required for annual financial statements and audits. Because continuity is extremely important, we would love to find someone who believes in our work and is willing to **walk this journey with us for at least one year**.
