When rape Survivors go for their forensic exams, their clothing and panties get taken away from them as evidence and in some cases, there is a long delay before they get discharged from hospital to go home.  Hospitals do not provide any toiletries for Survivors or any panties etc. and therefore, GRIP steps in to ensure that Survivors are able to have a nice bath/shower with fresh toiletries, new panties and deodorant or body spray.  It is vital that we try to preserve the dignity of these poor young women and therefore the provision of a care pack is something we see as being vital to our programme.

Adele, affectionately known as Kookie, is a 92-year-old pensioner who grew up in an orphanage. She has been an avid knitter for the past 72 years, dedicating her craft to creating clothing for disadvantaged children and babies. Her knitting repertoire includes dresses, baby booties, caps, scarves, and jumpers.

Two years ago, Adele experienced a severe fall, resulting in the loss of her sight. Despite this devastating setback, she continues to pursue her passion, finding joy in her knitting. Adele's love and compassion are evident in her dedication to using a portion of her SASSA pension to purchase wool for her projects.

This is where you come in. We kindly request donations of wool to support Adele's cause. Your contribution will enable her to continue knitting for those in need. We are happy to arrange collection on her behalf and can provide photos of her work as a token of appreciation.

The Rise Up Movement is a community welfare initiative focused on eradicating Gender Based Violence, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Human Trafficking and providing sustainable living within various communities on the Dolphin Coast. The primarily focus within The Rise Up 
Movement is to empower and educate communities on the effect of Gender Based Violence, creating safer communities and guiding survivors/ victims of this vile criminal act.
The Rise Up Movement aids victims of Gender Based Violence, Child Protection ranging from: Counselling, Court Procedures, Temporary Shelter, Logging of Cases and Sustainable Living.

The Rise Up Movement Gender Based Violence Safehouse programme is formulated on the following: 
* Physical – Any act that causes physical harm because of unlawful physical form.
* Sexual – Any sexual Act performed on an individual without their consent.
* Psychological – Any Act that causes psychological harm to an individual.
* Economic – Any Act or Behavior which causes economic harm to an individual.
The above-mentioned programme is designed on educating, empowering, and providing legal assessment to victims. These elements which is the birth of Gender Based Violence will be schooled to victims and future generations to bring equality within communities. 
From an environmental view, weak legal and criminal justice system fail to prosecute perpetrators and insufficient victims care are seen as contributing risk factors for Gender Based Violence. The programme designs are to bring adequate information and evidence to support and aid victims as they embark of the process. This is validated as support into the Family Child and Sexual unit and courts as part of mandating the process.

We run two outdoor street libraries at community centres in Alex and Soweto. The doors to the cubbies that hold the books have perspex windows.

Some of these windows are falling off. We need tools to reinsert the rivets that hold the windows in place, as well as help in fixing broken hinges.

We need two weed eaters to keep the grass tidy. There's no power points so they must run on petrol.
