LDC (Lesedi Day Care) is an ECD (Early Childhood Development) center for the children of farmworkers. We operate a creche on a citrus farm, just outside Marble Hall in the Limpopo province. Our daycare currently makes a difference to the lives of 43 children up to six years old. In our rural community children often receive no formal education and mental stimulation prior to their formal schooling years leading to developmental delays and causing them to struggle at school. We first opened in May 2012 and have been making a significant contribution to our rural community for the past 13 years. LDC’s focus is on preparing our children for formal schooling and have been consistently guiding an average of 20 graduates per year on to grade R. Parents are charged a very reasonable R250 per child per month. Our creche operates from a converted double container building which was donated by Egoli Gas and the Reatile Foundation in 2019.
