Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Help Us Grow More Than Food This Mandela Day On 18 July 2026, in celebration of Mandela Day, Patch-Up South Africa will officially launch a new community farm that has recently been entrusted to our organisation. This farm is more than a piece of land—it is an opportunity to create a space where community members can learn agricultural skills, generate income, access food, and build sustainable livelihoods. Our vision is to transform it into a vibrant agricultural hub that serves as a cornerstone for community development and a centre of excellence for farming education. While the land is now available, significant development is still needed. We are seeking support for essential infrastructure, including: JoJo water tanks and irrigation systems Greenhouses and aquaponics infrastructure Storage containers and Wendy houses Fencing and security improvements Signage and branding Farming tools, equipment, and materials Seedlings, seeds, and other agricultural inputs Our long-term goal is to establish a unique agricultural centre that attracts visitors, farmers, students, and partners from across the province, while working towards becoming an accredited provider of agricultural training. By supporting this project, you are not funding a once-off event—you are investing in a sustainable community asset that will continue creating opportunities, strengthening food security, developing skills, and generating income for years to come.
