Digital Readiness Audit and AI Roadmap for a Social Justice NGO As South Africa's nonprofit sector navigates rapid technological change, digital transformation has become essential to improving efficiency, expanding impact, strengthening fundraising, and delivering better services to communities. Like many civil society organisations, Afesis is committed to embracing digital innovation responsibly, but requires expert guidance to ensure our investments are strategic, practical, and sustainable. We are seeking experienced volunteers with expertise in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, information technology, business analysis, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data management, or organisational change to help us assess our current digital maturity and develop a practical roadmap for the future. The volunteer assignment would include: • Conducting a high-level digital readiness assessment across our programmes and operations. • Reviewing our current digital tools, systems, workflows, and data management practices. • Identifying opportunities to responsibly integrate Artificial Intelligence into programme delivery, communications, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and administrative functions. • Developing a phased Digital Transformation and AI Roadmap that prioritises quick wins, medium-term improvements, and long-term innovation. • Advising on governance, cybersecurity, data privacy, ethical AI, and staff capacity-building requirements. • Identifying opportunities for technology partnerships, software donations, cloud services, and digital skills support.
