Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

On Women's Day 9 August 2025 we ask that women in South Africa dress in white with red cloth of paint to depict bleeding. The aim is to draw attention to the 1000 women who are killed every QUARTER in South Africa, 60 % by intimate partners. Take a photo of yourself, or get together in groups and take a photo and share it on Social Media under the hashtag #1000DeadBodies and tag @vivafoundation in the posts. South Africa has the worst femicide rate in the world. Imagine we wake up one morning and there are 1000 dead women lying in the streets? The world would wake up! But it happens behind closed doors, away from cameras and spread over 3 months, so nobody says a thing! We want to create a visualisation of what 1000 dead women looks like to shake our country and its leaders to action. At Viva Connect, we will also gather for an event and take a drone photo of as many women and girls we can get together.
