What are we currently doing?

Throughout the year, Lydia will have a cupboard and pad drive, MySchool card activation and education for Rietenbosch Primary, education on volunteering in residents' own capacities (ForGood) and Lydia Care Fund for food insecurity and needs within the residence. In March, there will be a possible sandwich drive with Helshoogte. In April, there will be a collaboration with Huis Ten Bosch for a sandwich drive, an easter egg hunt with Rietenbosch Primary and Eendrag and Miss Lydia with a PSO (care packages). In May, motivation station project and drive for exam necessities. In July there will be a Christmas in July project, internal donations drive, outreach to Stellenbosch Night Shelter and a blanket drive with Equité. In August, a women's month project and outreach to women's shelter and a pad donation drive with men's residences.

What else can you do?

Community service has been an integral part of Stellenbosch University (SUN) for decades albeit in different forms and with shifting emphasis. This platform allows you to make social impact within the university's (7) CSI themes. Click on the links on the themes below to get involved in volunteering and donating opportunities of your choice.
