The Ernest Foundation is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Donation Sorting Coordinator volunteer to help us manage the generous donations we receive for vulnerable women and children in Orange Farm, South Africa. This role is crucial for ensuring that all donated items are processed efficiently and reach those who need them most. As a Donation Sorting Coordinator, you will play a key role in: Receiving & Organizing: Overseeing the intake of various donations (e.g., clothing, food, household items, educational supplies). Sorting & Categorization: Systematically sorting, categorizing, and inspecting donated items to ensure they are suitable for distribution. Inventory Support: Assisting with basic inventory tracking to understand what resources are available. Storage Management: Helping to organize and maintain our storage areas, ensuring items are accessible and in good condition. Volunteer Guidance: Potentially guiding other volunteers during sorting sessions, if applicable. We are looking for someone who possesses: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work systematically and efficiently. Experience in inventory management or similar organizational roles (a plus, but not essential). Physical ability to lift and move moderate loads, if required. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A passion for community development and empowering vulnerable individuals. Ability to commit to a regular schedule (e.g., a few hours per week/month). This is a hands-on opportunity to directly contribute to the operational efficiency of the Ernest Foundation.
