The Ernest Foundation is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Assistant volunteer to help us manage the flow of donations, supplies, and other resources critical to our programs for women and children in Orange Farm, South Africa. This role is vital for ensuring that resources reach those who need them most, efficiently and effectively. As a Logistics Assistant, you will play a key role in: Inventory Management: Assisting with the receiving, sorting, organizing, and tracking of donated goods (e.g., clothing, food, educational supplies). Distribution Support: Helping to prepare items for distribution to beneficiaries and coordinate logistics for delivery or collection. Storage Organization: Maintaining an organized and accessible storage area, ensuring proper handling of all items. Record-Keeping: Assisting with maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing resources. Procurement Support: Occasionally assisting with basic purchasing or identifying sources for needed supplies. We are looking for someone who possesses: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions and work systematically. Basic understanding of inventory or stock management (experience is a plus but not essential). Physical ability to lift and move moderate loads, if required. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A passion for community development and empowering vulnerable individuals. Ability to commit to a regular schedule (e.g., a few hours per week/month). This is a practical and impactful opportunity to use your organizational skills to directly support the operational backbone of our foundation. Your efforts will ensure that essential resources are managed effectively, directly benefiting the vulnerable families in the Orange Farm community.
