The Ernest Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Volunteer Coordinator volunteer to help us recruit, manage, and appreciate the incredible individuals who dedicate their time to our programs in Orange Farm, South Africa. This role is crucial for harnessing community support and expanding our capacity to serve women and children in need. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key role in: Volunteer Recruitment: Identifying and attracting new volunteers through various channels, promoting our needs and mission. Onboarding & Training: Assisting with the orientation and training of new volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles. Scheduling & Placement: Coordinating volunteer schedules, matching skills with needs, and ensuring adequate coverage for our programs and events. Communication & Support: Serving as a primary point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support, answering questions, and fostering a positive volunteer experience. Recognition & Retention: Helping to implement strategies to acknowledge and appreciate volunteers, encouraging their long-term commitment. Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate volunteer records, contact information, and hours contributed. We are looking for someone who possesses: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and administrative abilities. A friendly, approachable, and proactive demeanor. Experience in volunteer management, HR, or community organizing (a plus, but not essential). Proficiency in basic office software. A genuine passion for community development and empowering vulnerable individuals. Ability to commit to a regular schedule (e.g., a few hours per week/month).
